I create vibrant, psychologically-charged painted and drawn environments. My paintings include personal iconography and symbolism. I use markmaking and iconically portrayed imagery to express my psychological and spiritual ideas. I build emotion and rhythm with color, brushstroke and carefully placed imagery. Each painting engages and draws the viewer into a densely woven, colorful and rhythmic environment. My painted and drawn environments are often dreamlike or contemplative, although many are as vividly colored and energetic as a bright, clear day. The works are done on 30” x 42” sheets of Rives BFK 100 pound moulded cotton paper. I paint in acrylic and incorporate drawn elements with pencil, crayon, pastel or oilstick.
